The game started with a quick three and out for LSU's offense taking away any advantage of getting the ball first. Auburn continued with the conservative look and were also quickly faced with a 4th down punting it back to the Tigers. The punting kinda died off after this point as LSU drove the field and knocked it into the endzone with a '0 yard' quarterback sneak as EA called it. The second quarter got nutty. Auburn was following up nicely with a long drive that ended on LSU's one yard line when Dyer fumbled it just before breaking the plain. Another LSU touchdown gave the Tigers a 14-0 lead...but as we all know leads can dissipate quickly when playing a user game. Two quick scores in the 2nd brought Auburn back to a tied game..14-14..But LSU was still not finished for the first half again driving the field with onnly 1:37 seconds left and punching it in with 24 seconds to go..21-7
The second half was just good SEC play scoring back and forth to open the fourth quarter up 28-28. LSU scored the only points in the fourth quarter for the go ahead score to make it 35-28 with 2:03 left. Hard SEC defense was the difference at the end of the game when LSU stopped Auburn on a 3rd and 2 halfback dumpoff pass for no gain, and then rushed the quarterback to force an errant throw on fourth down. Knees would end the game from here. LSU remains undefeated and the top contender in the SEC.
Great game Splff, I'll see u next year in your coveted Jordan Hare stadium.
