Unless all of you have a better trade offer for MJD, I won't be able to get anything more out of him. My reason for doing this trade is because I want SOMETHING for him. If he plays for me this year, he will get maybe 1000 yards rushing. But I already have Shonn Greene in my backfield. Vontaze Burfict gives me a backup to Paul Poszluzny, which saves me a draft pick in this year's draft. Maurice-Jones Drew will want a $10+ million contract after this year, which I am not willing to give. He's not worth $8 million to me because I have Shonn Greene and intend to get a HB in the upcoming draft. If he were a young star on the rise wanting around $5 million, I would re-sign him, but he's approaching 28 years old and doesn't have much to offer my team. I'm doing this so I don't lose a player to free agency for nothing.

Ok hooch I would have definitely took him, but I just traded both of my trades and in one of them I got Ronnie Hillman. I'm sure someone would make a trade for him. The thing is, no one knew how cheap he'd be. I didn't bid at first because I thought it would cost an arm and a leg to get him. Here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna make a thread letting everyone know how cheap he's going and see if anybody wants to up the ante'. Kinda like a bidding thing. If after 24 hours, no one counters Shooters bid, I will change my vote to a yes and I will inform my other committee members whats going on as well. It will still be up to them as to whether they want to change their vote or not tho. The thing that I didn't like about the trade was the fact that you(Hooch) got on at around midnight and made the trade then left and no one even knew. Not to mention that you're pretty brand new and trading MJD is a pretty big deal. A much bigger deal when you're trading him for this. Anyway, I'm gonna make the thread and come back and check it at 8pm tomorrow. If there are no better offers for MJD, I'm gonna vote yes. If there are then I'm gonna keep my vote at no. BTW, you don't have to accept the offer that's proposed. I just want to know if shooter really is the only one that wants to make an offer or is it a case where people just didn't know. Stay tuned......

I'm voting yes on this one. I understand the contract concern, because a lot of players want outrageous money that they're not worth.

I get the feeling that everyone is just looking at this straight up, value-wise, but Shooter is taking a risk just by taking a player who is on his final year. If MJD decides to cut ties and test FA, he got one year out of this trade.

Hopefully some of you guys change your mind because I see the logic in this.
