There was little action in the third until the final minute when Drew Allen came in and tossed a touchdown pass increasing Oklahoma's lead to 11. 43 seconds later it was 18 as the Sooners recovered a fumble and Brennan Clay punched it in. Oklahoma lead 35-17 going into the 4th quarter with all the momentum on their side.
Things then get insane. Texas marches down the field and scores to make it 35-24. After a decent drive by Oklahoma, they were forced to punt. Luckily the Longhorns punt returner misplayed it and Texas took over at their own 3 yard line. That didn't bother them, however, as the speedster Davis caught a pass and took it 97 yards to the house. A 2 point conversion later and it is a 3 point game.
Oklahoma got the ball back determined to run out the clock. However, on a third down play, Young was intercepted for the 3rd time. Texas, in field goal range with only a minute left, tried to go for the win. This resulted in disaster as Taylor was sacked on third down, pushing them out of field goal range. forced to attempt a 4th and 20, Taylor's pass fell incomplete and Oklahoma took over. Texas did have timeouts remaining, and the Sooners faced a 4th down on their own 30 with 10 seconds remaining. Joker elected to have Young take the snap and run around before running out of the end zone with no time remaining on the clock, conceding the two points but taking the win.
