Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
I have a test tomorrow that I have to study for all day and then a paper due on wednesday so it may be a little while before I can get my game in. I'll try to squeeze it in sometime but it may be wednesday or so.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
BTW, before anyone sees the restarts and starts saying something, I tried to play the game twice in a row last night at about 3-4 a.m., and both times it froze on me where it starts to load the teams. I took it as a sign I was trying to play the game too late and went to bed, but it never got into the actual game, so I don't know why it's showing the restart...just want to clear up any conspiracy theories.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
Tough start to a new era of Florida football. To say that beating Stanford at home was tough, well, that would be an understatement. I just couldn't put them away, even though I led the entire time. I guess hawk had some talent in place when he left.
Anyways, I just couldn't run the ball like I thought I'd be able to coming in. Trey Burton had 85 yards, but wasn't as effective throwing. Still, when you get 85 yards and a TD out of your QB on the ground, it can pose problems. Passing, Burton completed 11-of-17 for 201 yards a touchdown and an interception.
Mack Brown was his usual self with 138 yards on 23 attempts and three touchdowns.
Still, the way I feel coming out of this game is that it could be a long season. Feeling 1-1 coming up with a trip to take on Joker next week.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
Penn State starts off a new era on the right foot beating Ohio 69-14
And it wasn't that close. Well, the 1st Quarter was close w/ PSU taking a 3-0 lead, but a 31 point 2nd Quarter ended any questions of a close game. The Nittany Lions outgained Ohio 849 - 247. If not for 2 breakdowns on defense, it would've been a shut out. Penn State showed up to play in Coach Mountie's debut...throwing for 489 yards across 3 QBs and rushing for 360 w/ 2 players rushing for over 100 yards. The story of the day...well there were several players that stood out.
5* Fr WR, Ken Smith, broke the single game receiving record for PSU in his first game catching 9 balls for 237 yards and 2 TDs. Sr QB, Kevin Newsome, had a breakout performance as well throwing for 341 yards and 3 TDs while also rushing for 107 yards. So HB, Silas Redd, ran for 164 yards and 4 TDs, including a 63 yarder which demonstrated his top end speed.
There weren't many sacks, but the PSU defense pressured Ohio's QB all day, which ended up in 2 INTs by Sr CB, Evan Lewis. If PSU's defense, which is young but talented in certain spots, can keep up this performance and Redd can contribute some yards each game, Penn State might be a force to be reckoned w/.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
Austin, TX -- Wyoming was a rude guest as they scored first in the season opener against the Texas Longhorns. The Cowboys benefited from a pass interference call on 3rd and long against true freshman Trey Mitchell that put them in range for a field goal. The Longhorns responded with an ass kicking the likes of which we have rarely seen.
Mike Davis took the ensuing kick 103 yards to the house and the Longhorns added nine more touchdowns in the first half to put the unranked Cowboys to bed.
The Texas defense was a beast producing seven turnovers, two TDs, six sacks and countless QB pressures. QB Richard Brehaut was able to connect on a TD pass in the 4th quarter, long after the Texas had inserted their 3rd stringers. The Longhorn D also held Wyoming to negative yards rushing.
Perhaps more importantly, the Connor Wood era seems to be off to a great start in Austin. After being named the starter before last year's Cotton Bowl (which resulted in QB Garrett Gilbert bolting for the NFL), Wood stepped up to solidify his spot on top of the depth chart. Wood ran the offense with cut throat precision firing 5 TDs on only seven completions.
Wood's starting role was in question as Head Ball Coach STR signed three highly touted prospects at QB last year. Heralded freshman Steve Concepcion made his debut and scored two TDs on the ground and found Brian Smith on a beautifully thrown 77 yard TD strike.
"Wood looked good didn't he?" said the Head Ball Coach. "We're gonna pitch it around the yard this year and that starts and ends with Connor. He's really embraced the concept of competition here and he's come back on a mission."
The Head Ball Coach was also encouraged by what he saw in Concepcion. "Well he knows the offense better than anybody so he deserves to be out there. I've never seen a freshman with a grasp of the offense like that. He signed early, got his butt in here and got down to business. We've got some other guys who I think are gonna be really great for us but right now we think these two QBs give us the best chance to win"
The Longhorns played 11 players that they signed in the 2011 recruiting season. The Head Ball coach offered his thoughts on the Texas youth movement - "We're not that good right now but the future is bright. Heck I just hung up with another 5*QB we just signed out of Cali. We're going to continue to compete here. In a couple years I think we should be right where we want to be. But right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to beat Boise"

If we do play Friday, it'd have to be late or early during the day. I have to cover a game on Friday and Saturday I have to work and cover the Florida vs. Kentucky game that night.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
New No. 1 still can't beat Alabama
It's 2012, so we gotta start having a little fun with it since most of the real players we know and talk about have graduated or turned pro early. And what better to talk about than Florida moving to the top spot, not only in recruiting, but also in the nation.
Yet, contraversy has arose as Florida hasn't beaten Alabama in two season. The Gators won't meet the Crimson Tide in the regular season, but there could be a shot at trying to avenge the losses in the SEC Championship game.
But first, there's another team out west that's calling the Gators. The Oklahoma Sooners may have been looking ahead in week one, but coach Legend knows he'll get the Jokers' best.
Welcome to Week 2!

I'm not getting home from Boston until 7-8pm. I could play late most likely though. If not, it looks like it might not be until Sun. I don't have much this weekend other than getting tanked for the WVU/LSU game Sat night. Sun should be wide open though.
And WTF is up w/ Penn State's recruiting? Jesus. No 5*s giving me as much as a sniff. I don't think I was in the Top 5 for any 4*s either. Penn, Ohio, and Maryland all suck for talent this year. This is going to be a rough first season on the recruiting trail.

Oh yeah, I'm calling 3-4 losses for me this season. My team is definetly young and not very good. We talked about it going in. I was just glad that I could be No. 1 for a week, and get the recruits I did week 1, because it could be a LONG season. Next up, another loss for the Gators to Penn State.
