Ok, this is one of the biggest, and possibly the biggest addition to Rivals 2012. The scouting report is here in full force.
Many of you may be thinking, what does that require of me. I am here to assure that it's not going to be as difficult as writing a yung-length recap.
The scouting report is simple. You have two choice on how to do them.
The first option is to leave it into you hands and you can write a paragraph or two about their playing style. I stress, however, that it can't be something to the effect of this...
"He ran a lot of shotgun and played nickel coverage the entire time"
That will not sufice as a recap. Here's more of an example of what I'm looking for if you choose to write your own recap.
"He usually ran the ball out of the i-formation and bigger sets, but occassionly would go for the deep ball. Out of the shotgun he rarely runs, but if he does its the option. His quarterback has some speed, but he doesn't scramble often, mainly hurting you on option plays.
Defensively, he mostly utalizes man defense and likes to use his mlb. Third down, he usually brings the heat."
Of course these can be more in depth than that and they don't have to be QUITE that long, but in the ballpark. What I'm basically looking for is after a couple of season to be able to compare game in and out to see what tendancies that a coach has over the long term.
Option 2: This is the easier option for people that don't like to typse out a lot.
You can copy and paste the Questions below and simply answer them. They do not have to be long answers. Some can simply be a few words such as he ran the option, spread and ace formations. Anyways, Here those questions are:
1. What style offense would you say they ran (option, run heavy, NFL style, spread, etc.)?
2. What kind of plays were they most successful running on offense?
3. Describe their mix of plays between run and pass (example. pass 60%, run 40%)?
4. Who were his best players and what made them stand out?
5. What style defense do they primarily run (multiple, 4-3, 3-35, nickel, etc.)?
6. If you won, describe the places you were able to attack. If you lost, describe what the other team did best.
7. Anything specific to watch for?
Anyways, that's about it and I think that this will add a lot to Rivals over the long run this year and could add another element of realism to the game. If anyone has any question that they feel might better the list, feel free to leave one and I will consider adding it.
Finally, each team will have it's own page to keep them organized.
