Your 2010 National Champions the Kansas Jayhawks!!!!!
Great game stop. The interceptions and my couple big flexbone option runs is what did it. You are dominant on the ground. Looking forward to developing a great rivalry.

Here is the drunk review of my loss to Alabama
Alabama won 28-21. Those all-A ratings came out as they ran up and down the field on us. Jerrod Johnson never could find his recievers, but A&M did find a deep threat for next year. The running game was horrible, and if A&M wants to repeat their success next year, the running game has to step up.
I will try something more in-depth in the morning when I sober, but for now I LOVE COLLEGE

CT, ready when you are.....
Hawk, congratulations. I'll be looking forward to our rematch this season, and I'm glad that I can say that my only loss came to the national champion. Now clark better do me right in rivals where I can say that the only person to beat me there is him.

I guess they better start calling the Big 12 the Big 2. Only one loss this year, to the eventual national champion. Maybe I'll end the season ranked second.

BTW, if Kid can play his game pretty soon and advance it for us, that means we can go ahead and go to players leaving. Then we can try to knock a few of these recruiting days out pretty quick so we're not stuck with it all in one evening since it doesn't look like we'll be able to until Sunday or so as of now.

Nice. Great job urban. Will the winner of the battle for the north always be blessed with such national success? The Kansas vs. Nebraska game next season is already circled in both teams' locker rooms.urbanslegend05 wrote:I guess they better start calling the Big 12 the Big 2. Cinderella Story 2010
There wasn't an empty seat in the house; in a matchup featuring the nation's two best teams, the Wisconsin Badgers and the Kansas Jayhawks. For a game that had all the makings of one for the ages, it did not disappoint. Both teams came in undefeated and hungry for one more win.
The Jayhawks, a national unknown when the season started, had a historic season under first year head coach jhawk886, winning their first Big 12 Championship on their way to the title game. The highly touted Badgers came in to the title game off of a very successful season with wins over Ohio State, Iowa, Notre Dame, Boise State, and Florida State. On the legs of junior running back John Clay, the Wisconsin offense led the nation in rushing with an astounding 4,338 yards rushing. As a team, they averaged almost 7 yards per carry and Clay himself had an 8.1 yards per carry average.
Wisconsin head coach Stoptherun was very disappointed that Clay was not even given a chance at the Heisman. Stoptherun was quoted as saying, "All I gotta say is that if Clay doesn't win the Heisman, it's the biggest fuckup in the history of the award." The fact that Clay, with historic numbers, wasn't even on the Heisman watch list, brings into question the criteria used by, and maybe even the ethics and biases, of the Heisman selection committee. In light of the recent forfeiture of the 2005 Heisman trophy by USC running back Reggie Bush, the only reason that this reporter can think of as to why the selection committee would refuse to give any consideration to Clay, is that they believe that he too, like Bush, has committed NCAA rules violations and will in the future be ruled retroactively ineligible.
Both teams also brought in very good defenses, but with the vaunted Wisconsin running game and the highly effective multiple offense the Jayhawks run, a high scoring affair was expected. What we got on this Wednesday night was very different.
Wisconsin got the ball to start things off but quickly found out that the Kansas defense was not to be taken lightly. The Jayhawks were able to bottle up Clay on a couple of plays and force Wisconsin to throw the ball. Senior quarterback Scott Tolzien took a chance and threw it into coverage trying to get it to receiver Nick Toon. Jayhawks' senior corner Chris Harris made a good play on the ball though and came up with the pick.
Kansas then drove down the field, getting inside the Wisconsin 20-yard line, but there the drive stalled. The Jayhawks took the lead with a 30-yard field goal. The defensive struggle continued with back and forth punts and a lot of clock being run off with long running drives. Wisconsin was finally able to get on the board with a gutsy call from coach stoptherun on 4th and goal with a 3 yard touchdown run from John Clay.
Kansas would get the ball back with a minute and a half left in the half; determined to at least cut the lead down to one. The Jayhawks were able to put together a good drive, converting a couple of third downs along the way. With two seconds left on the clock, senior kicker Jacob Branstetter put a 45-yard field goal through the uprights to bring the Jayhawks within one.
Knowing that they would open the second half with the ball, Kansas had the momentum going into halftime. "I told our guys, you guys have played great out there. Our defense has played great, and our offense just needs to execute a little better. When we get down in the redzone we need to punch it in," coach jhawk said in his halftime speech.
The Jayhawks opened the second half with a drive that stalled with a forth and one from the Wisconsin 45. Coach jhawk886 made a tough call to punt it and trust his defense. It paid off. The Jayhawks D held Wisconsin to a three and out of their own.
The Jayhawks then came out running the ball and were able to gouge the Wisconsin defense for some good yardage. Redshirt freshman quarterback Christian Matthews took an option 36 yards for the touchdown to put the Hawks up 12-7. Coach jhawk then decided to go for two to make it a seven point game. Matthews took the 2-point conversion in as well.
Now trailing 14-7, Wisconsin had to put some points on the board. They orchestrated a long, methodical drive, but found themselves faced with a 4th and 3 on the Kansas 21-yard line. Coach stoptherun had a tough decision to make and ended up calling timeout to think it over. He decided to take the points and hope his defense could come up with a stop.
Wisconsin's D did hold strong as they forced Kansas to punt after just three plays. But after an interception by sophomore linebacker Stephen Johnson, the Jayhawk offense had new life. They drove down the field, and capped off their drive with another option keeper from quarterback Christian Matthews for 27 yards. With just over two minutes left in the game and trailing 21-10, Wisconsin was in trouble.
Out of his comfort zone, coach stoptherun was forced to pass the ball. This did not bode well for Tolzien as he threw his third interception of the day into the hands of Kansas corner Isiah Barfield.
With under a minute and a half left, trailing by eleven, and only two timeouts left; the game was over.
After the game coach jhawk had this to say, "I'm just so proud of our players. Nobody thought they could do it. But they have worked really hard all season, and just really bought in to what I was teaching. They played together and everyone contributed. This truly was a team championship. My hat's off to Wisconsin. They had a great season, and they gave us a great game. We'll see them next season so I'm sure they'll be looking for revenge."
"And will you guys be ready coach?"
"Oh we'll be ready. We'll be ready. Don't worry about that. We'll be ready."
"Do you think you can defend your title next season coach?"
"I don't know. Next season is a totally different animal. The Big 12 is a very tough conference with very good opponents. We also will have some very tough non conference games. But I know one thing for sure. We're no longer just a basketball school! Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Go KU!"

I hope to have it done by the time we start next season. That's when I'll really get back to doing week writeups, and stuff like that, that I was doing before. What I'm gonna do is have something similar to the 2nd post on the home page like Rivals was for a lil while. I still haven't sat down with it good yet.
Anyway, as you have found out, there are lulls here and there. That's not really a problem. The problem comes when the lull lasts for days.
sorry everybody, I had some family shit come up yesterday on top of a brutal day at work... I will play my bowl as soon as I step in the door this evening... Should be about 530 or 6

Yeah and he's doing it with Kansas and Stanford lol. I was hoping stop would beat him so he wouldn't seem like the supreme unbeatable NCAA player, but shit, that's what he is right now lol.

He's definitely got a mark on his back heading into both the Workers and Rivals upcoming seasons. Here it's obvious after winning it all, and even though he didn't win it in Rivals, he finished undefeated (although he only played one user who wasn't very good, cough, cough, splff), but that's still an accomplishment.

Hmm, me thinks we should have a Auburn / Nebraska home and home. Someone is running off at the mouth a little too much.

Re: Workers 2011 Discussion Thread
Well next season should be even better for me because I'll have Pick back and improved, and my redshirt freshman running back Brandon Bourbon to actually give me some speed in the backfield. Switching some players' positions to put them in needed spots and where they are actually better will help as well. I should be better next year, hopefully.
