Re: Ideas For Rules
Cool, Week 1 and 2 are usually easy weeks to schedule so I'm sure we can get it done, Plus it will give some people something easy to write about if they are unsure of what to write when the DYN first kicks off.

As far as non conference user games go, i'll play whoever, whenever. I think since it's the summer we can have more non conference user games. It's gonna be badass once we get this thing rolling I can't wait

We will have some week one user games no doubt. It will help us weed out cry babies early. Hopefully we don't have any but my opinion is, you quit a user game you quit the league.

Re: Ideas For Rules
The PS3 rivals leagues were epic. There were some really intense rivalries that played out, probably the number one was Clark (Bama) vs Urb (Florida). I hope those guys get a league going again on PS3 cuz I like playing with them but I am also excited for this one, I hope we create a new regular thing here
Like Dips said, when any new league starts you get the guys who quit after a loss or just disappear outta nowhere, but for every 2 or 3 of those guys you find a year around consistent user, this site has lots of those guys on he PS3 so lets hope the 360 contingent holds its own

The more and more I read these discussions, the more I feel like I fit in. Which is a good thing.
And I like the idea the conference rivalries once a year. So we get one warm-up game with the first week, and the second week it goes straight into National Title competitions.

I remember one time they played, we were all in the chatbox getting updates from Urb (who is now Dolfinley on here) and Clark was up like 54-28 or something like that and he went for a fake punt with like 30 seconds left to rub it in and got a TD off it. Urb booted Clark from the dynasty (let him back in a day later) and there was some pretty classic forum posts over the whole thing. This was after the last time they played Urb won and Clark sent him some hilarious text messages, I think one of them was like "I'm gonna kill your family motherfucker!" or some shit like that, we were all rolling. Basically every time they played it was news because you wanted to see what the loser of the game would say afterward.
Ya'll will find out, when these games are peaking like a month after release, with Rivals for NCAA and Grinders for Madden, this site jumps, the chatbox during the times, especially with user games going on, is probably the most entertaining place on the internet that doesnt ahve porn lol

Well in regards to the first part, I just mean in short that I really like this OD and forum!
And the last part, I was just saying having non-conference user games is a good idea.
Sorry for the confusion! Sometimes I have well thought out things in my head, and I write them and they just come off as... under developed sentences. lol.

Re: Ideas For Rules
1 - Do you guys think where we are 3 star teams do we need to just recruit all the guys we can or should we have a recruiting rule (like the graduating seniors +3 thing we talked about earlier)?
2 - Do you think we need to worry about the position change thing jbrax talked about earlier? Or just wait till we see it (if we do)?
3 - How do we handle restarts and disconnects? I noticed this year you can see a friends score while he is playing so if we have one guy who gets more than a normal amount of CPU game restarts we could just monitor his score and see if these random restarts happen when he's getting his ass kicked. As far as say you're beating a user by three scores at half time and mysteriously he loses connection. How do we handle these issues fairly?
4 - I like the conference rotation idea but I also think if the NC happens to be user vs user like I'm sure it often will I kinda think those two users should have to have a non conference game vs each other in the following season just to keep the same guys from always being there. (Dumb maybe?)
5 - I do not wanna make cheese rules or 4th down restrictions because it's a never ending list of stupid shit. I say if a guy gets you with a fake fg to convert a fourth down and you call block every time then you deserved it. The only way a cheese type rule gets put in is with a 12 user vote and every single user calls it cheese.
6 - Sorry Jared I gotta throw it out there. SLIDER changes. In my opinion every person that plays this game plays it different than the next guy. I can't stand constant little tweaks to make the game play better for one or two people. The CPU games were completely worthless in last years Rivals PS3 league IMO. It made it funner for some guys but it made me have to run the same 3 plays over and over again or the CPU just kicked my ass. I say NO sliders get touched unless ALL 12 users say it is so. I do however want to hear other guys input on this please. Jared, if you wanna avoid any slider talk I'm fine with it but some of you other guys let me know your thoughts.

Re: Ideas For Rules
1)recruiting issue.
I'm Baylor. I need all the 4 and 5 star talent I can get right now. If I could land 22-4's and 3-5's would be sweet. If I gotta cut a 80 OVR senior to make room for my 82 OVR fresh so be it. TFB(too fuckin bad) for the senior. I understand the logic behind the seniors +2-3 theory. But as for the first few years I say get what u can get.
2)position changes.
If u get caught doin this gay shit...lets say twice...ur done. Everyone deserves a second chance. Except rapists, murderers, and pedafiles.
3)restarts/disconnects.
Funny Dip brings this one up and he knows why lol. But its a tough call, cuz sometimes u truelly do lose a connection from time to time. I'm not sure where I stand on this. I guess if its happenin a ton, we'll just have to go with monitoring the situation as a league. And if it comes down to a majority vote or somethin to give em the boot.
4)User games.
I like Dips stance on this one. Make the National title matchup the following year as well week 1. And all users must play atleast 3 user games. I'm down. My whole non-conf sched can be users Dip if u need to be to help ya schedule.
5)cheeseness.
Play sim. Dont cheese. User games will most likely point this shit out. Well I guess outrageous stats could too (17ints w/MLB. god that was an awesome year). Let the league decide cheesers fate. If u have 60 sacks a season with ur DE this is not the league for u.
6)sliders
God I hate this topic. Unanimous league vote before tweakin that shit period. Its crazy how one little bump either way with those damn sliders can totally fuck with the experience.

Re: Ideas For Rules
I'm cool with everything except the meet week 1 if you meet in the Ship. I feel like if two teams dominate the leaguer then it's our responsibility to knock them out. I'm cool with maybe those two get more user games then normal so they have a greater chance to lose. If someone keeps going to the National Championship please believe I want first crack at him the next year to make sure it does not happen again. That's just my opinion though.
I just don't think we should implement a way to dethrone the best players, we should just beat them fair and square.

Re: Ideas For Rules
ok so I'll keep this as short as possible
1- recruits-no recruit cap during the first year while we all learn more about new shit and stuff. 2 year seniors + 3
2- pos. changes- don't do unrealistic moves or you get booted. This will be tough to monitor though. I kinda don't understand why you would change a corner to lb instead of just runnin dime or nickel
3-restarts- I know we are all adults playin a video game so.....but if you can't handle losin to a point you quit then clearly you're bein a bitch
4-user games- I'm with Dip as well here. I think in order to get B2B NCs you should really have to earn it but I don't think you should have to play extra user games if you're not into that
5-cheese- if you like to do cheesy shit find a cheesy OD.
6-sliders- unless it's a blaring issue leave the sliders alone. Every game and gamer are different. Some guys will find ways to beat the shit out of the cpu you can count on that. It happens every year. I don't wanna change shit to fit 1 or 2 guys style that's dumb

Re: Ideas For Rules
Hey man, that's cool. I'm down for whatever, seriously.
If guys are winning games 100-0, as a stat nazi, that will irk me, but, at the end of the day, I am not gonna worry about it like I used to.
Whatever you guys wanna do is cool with me!
Almost there fellas!

If people avg 300 yards rushing per game vs comp and 50 vs all users then at least we know what their about. I'm more worried about Championships then Heismans but that's me.

Hey Dip, are u planning on setting recruiting on heisman? Maybe we'll have to try to play thru a season quick this weekend to see if its re-damndiculous to even get half decent recruits to sign.

Good question for sure. While I know it could be different this year with the added recruiting touches or whatever, I did feel like last year it was pretty tough on Heisman if you weren't USC, Florida, or Texas

This.. When we get together this weekend the 3 of us will do a dynasty and see what happens. I didn't feel like heisman recruiting was too hard last year. I'd way rather things be too hard than too easy.

Based on last years game I would say we do heisman recruiting and all-american difficulty to start. However I do think a quick season or 2 with dip and chugg will give us at least a little idea of how this year will be

Re: Ideas For Rules
But is AA recruiting TOO easy? I guess we just gotta find out.
I will say, I highly doubt we will get any challenge from CPU on default AA. Thats all I'm gonna say about it. I know nobod wants to lose to the CPU but I also don't want to be bored.
Tomorrow for is season ticket release!

Re: Ideas For Rules
I planned on heisman cuz the CPU has never been good enough on AA but if during our Friday, Saturday NCAA marathon we decide Heisman is just rediculous we will post a thread to discuss it with everyone. I have always felt like the game plays better on AA but it was just a little too easy. Maybe AA with some slider adjustments? I always lose a game or two to the CPU regardless but some dudes never will no matter what setting it's on. I remember Yung being tough to beat in user games and then just getting slaughtered by the CPU sometimes. But on the flip side I've seen Yung beat Dinknose and Dinknose always beats the shit out of the CPU. I just don't want users quitting because they can't win a game. We will check it out.

Re: Ideas For Rules
Fuck man, im at the EA season ticket menu just watching the counter for the early release tomorrow, lol, im stoked! 26 hours bitches!
Dips, I apologize, I was under the impression that you only wanted to use default settings. If I had to vote for one option above all others, I would say AA with sliders. I agree, I always thought Heisman and All-madden likewise made the CPU controlled players do stupid shit. I brought it up all the time on the PS3 boards here but nobody was willing to try AA with tougher sliders. I would LOVE to go AA with sliders to prove that the game really does play better on that setting. All I really give a shit about are three things: can both sides rush the passer, can mediocre QBs actually look like mediocre QBs and not put it on he money every single time, and can he CPU at least run the ball A LITTLE BIT. I used to hate looking at box scores from other games users played against CPU and seeing -25 rushing yards for the CPU. Again, I know if I really get into this discussion it wont end well, lol. That's my input. I don't want to see the CPU make insane INTs, sack me every play, catch everything, etc, I just want a bit of a realisic challenge? if that makes sense.
