Haha. Don't worry, it wasn't the OLB. It was the #2 WR in the nation, Robert DeAngelis.Jaredlib wrote:jhawk886 wrote:I also got another 5* instant commit this week, so that's nice

Landed the number one.center and the number three olb. The backed will not start but will not.be redshirted either. The.center is decent across the board and will be redshrted as.a.freshman.

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
Auburn's recruiting class is coming along nicely so far(week 7).
Hard committed recruits:
- Lawrence Parker (SS) 6'3 209 - Depending on his rating when he come in, Parker may redshirt or he may get on the field immediately. We need help in the secondary so it's very likely he may start as a true freshman. He has decent speed and the good man coverage skill that I covet. The real thing that I love is his B- block shedding, B- pursuit, and his B- hit power. That means he will be knocking fools out real soon.
- Robert Johnson (WR) 6'3 183 - He will definitely see the field this year. Other than my top 3 WRs, my WR corp leaves a lot to be desired. He has pretty average receiving skills with C- to C+ ratings in all those categories but what will help get on the field is his A acceleration and B+ speed. His size will be an asset as well in tight spaces.
- Bill Booker (TE) 6'4 267 - He has average size for a TE but he will be an asset with his B speed. He may redshirt his freshman year to work on his impact blocking and blocking skills more, but we think he may be a college football star in waiting. If he can progress his all C's receiving skills and his impact blocking, he will definitely be a force to reckon with.
- Brandon Montgomery (DT) 6'3 310 - We were surprised that we were able to sign him without a visit. He had already visited FSU in week 3 and moved them to no. 1 shortly after that. I guess he wasn't impressed with their recruiting tactics afterwards and decided to go ahead and sign with his initial first choice. Montgomery his strong and quick. His C- speed and C- acceleration along with B- strength and B power moves will surely gives O-lines fits in the future. Hie's a good tackler with a B- rating, but he's not really a powerful hitter with his C- hit power rating. He will definitely redshirt because we are already deep at DT.
- Dwayne Burke (DE) 6'4 195 - Burke just instant committed this week during a phone call. He has had Auburn no.1 since the beginning of the season and since no one else was recruiting him, he decided not to wait for the visit and just committed instantly. He has that speed that I covet with a B rating in that category. He has very good moves, block shedding and hit power with a C+ to B- in all those categories. He's not an exceptionally strong tackler, but because of our depth at DE he will redshirt and hopefully work on that before getting on the field.
Week 7 is a very important week for me recruiting wise because the rest of my initial recruits are coming to visit this week. If I get a lot of commits this week, that will free up time to go after a few non- interested recruits. If not, I'll have to scour the recruiting pool to look for replacements for those that didn't sign.
BTW - nice rating system jhawk.

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
That loss against Texas really fucked me because I didn't pass anyone on any of the recruits I had at the game. Gonna have to bring in some 3* JUCO's to salvage yet another recruiting class that is quickly going down the drain, like pretty much everyone I've had lol.

Luckily for me, the lost on the road at USC, didn't hurt me that much. The loss to Florida at home caused me to lose at least 2 recruits and it may have been the determining factor for for 2 others that I loss. A x2 saved me with a couple of guys that I was about to lose, but after that I jumped into first and never lost it. I don't know how I'm gonna sign 19 guys. I just don't see it. Oh well, I'd rather go with quality over quantity anyway.

I am doing my best with the recruiting this year. I had 7 recruits visiting my week 7, I beat the Rival pretty bad, hope they liked Bryant Denny and at atmosphere. Gotta start soon

Well 3 of those guys were visiting me this week as well. I'm sure you got the better grade for a visit since your game was a rivalry game. I just hope at least one of those guys come to Auburn. We were pretty close on all 3.

Signed the #42 ranked SS out of Texas, Jon Hines. He's 6'4 and hits hard but is pretty slow. At this point I'm just trying to bring in guys that can be respectable backups so my roster isn't full of walk ons.

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
We're off to a slow start compared to where we normally are at this point, but look for us to finish real strong. We had a major fuck up that killed half our board in the early weeks, but we've managed to recover and we've got a really nice class lining up. I'm looking to sign 10-11 kids during the season, then fill out to our max of 15 signees in the offseason.

And I will say that the emergence of tcu as a 6* school has had way more impact than I expected. Those mfers are everywhere and a lot of kids wanna play for them. They are gonna have some huge classes until somebody puts them back in their place.

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
I reworked the formula for my recruiting rankings a bit to put a little more emphasis on the quality of recruits. The difference between a 5 star and 4 star wasn't enough in my opinion so I bumped it up a bit. These are the new rankings.
1) Notre Dame = 153.5 (8 5*s, 2 4*s)
2) Ohio State = 147.74 (1 5*, 5 4*s, 3 3*s)
3) Auburn = 87.33 (3 5*s, 5 4*s)
4) Cal = 79.57 (6 4*s, 2 3*s)
5) Florida = 78.18 (3 5*s, 4 4*s)
6) USC = 78 (1 5*, 5 4*s, 1 3*)
7) Florida State = 77.73 (1 5*, 9 4*s, 1 3*)
8 ) Alabama = 67.13 (1 5*, 4 4*s, 1 3*)
9) Miami = 46.26 (4 4*s, 2 3*s)
10) Texas = 38.21 (1 5*, 2 4*s)
11) Michigan = 22.68 (1 4*, 2 3*s, 1 1*)
12) Oklahoma = 22.09 (1 5*, 1 4*, 1 3*)
1) Notre Dame = 153.5 (8 5*s, 2 4*s)
2) Ohio State = 147.74 (1 5*, 5 4*s, 3 3*s)
3) Auburn = 87.33 (3 5*s, 5 4*s)
4) Cal = 79.57 (6 4*s, 2 3*s)
5) Florida = 78.18 (3 5*s, 4 4*s)

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
My recruiting has not been that bad the last 2 seasons as i have adjusted to it. I am currently trynna boost my roster for the next few season so hopefully that all pans out. Hawk be killing me as i seem to loose the Top Recruits to him, but i got a descent set of players coming in. In th eprevious seasons i have been last on the list, but im slowly gonna try to build OSU back up to a power house. I did land a 4* QB, 6'5", 225 and that was huge for my team.

Re: Class of 2017 Recruiting
There are 14 5* recruits left on the table. I figured I'd run through where it looks like they're going to potentially end up.
#1 ATH - Heath Parkins - USC has him wrapped up
#1 WR - Kurt Hollis - Texas has the slimest of margins (-1) over Oklahoma right now.
#3 WR - Dustin Johnson - Texas has him wrapped up
#1 QB - James Battle - Florida has a decent lead on him but Notre Dame has been coming on strong for him in recent weeks and he visited South Bend this week to witness the win over a rival.
#1 DE - Kurt Galloway - Texas has a 1-point lead over both Oklahoma and TCU at the moment.
#4 HB - Kyle Smith - Texas has a decent lead over Oklahoma and Iowa currently, but Smith is visiting Iowa this week.
#1 T - Ryan Everett - Texas has a big lead on Florida but if Florida can stay in the hunt, they have a visit scheduled for week 12.
#5 WR - Kevin Chase - Oklahoma has a minuscule lead over Texas right now.
#4 DE - Justin Fulton - Miami has a big lead over Florida at the moment; but, like Ryan Everett, Florida has a visit scheduled for week 12 if they can keep him from committing before then.
#1 MLB - Marcus Bradshaw - Notre Dame has a big lead over Texas at the moment.
#2 G - Adam Dingle - Texas has a decent lead over Oklahoma and a huge lead over Notre Dame; but the Irish had Dingle in for their big rivalry victory this weekend.
#6 HB - David Booker - Texas has a decent lead over Navy currently.
#3 QB - Jon Collins - Alabama has him locked up.
#6 WR - Jermaine Robertson - USC has him locked up.

Yeah, that QB Battle has never really interested me. He's ranked No. 1 yes, but I don't know how well he'll fit into my system. Might just have to change the offense up if I get him, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's always fun to reinvent yourself.

He looks to be the exact duplicate of my current backup who will start next year. Kind of strange.urbanslegend05 wrote:Yeah, that QB Battle has never really interested me.
