How was this formulated? How am I behind A&M when they have two losses and I have one, and I beat them?

    My formula is this:
    =SUM(User yards gained per game)/10+
(User points scored per game-Points given up per game)-
(User yards given up per game/10)

After that, two points are added for each win you have.

The reason for the dividing the yards by 10 is to bring them down to scale with the points as points are more important than yards.

The reason you're trailing A&M (by 9 points as you have 44) is because he averages more yards per game, gives up less yards, scores more, and gives up less points than you do. I realize this formula isn't perfect and am willing to listen to any suggestions to improve it.

Lol, this sounds more messed up than the BCS computer formula. I think you might want to stick with individual achievements.

If it's possible, I think you should add turnover ratio and opponent strength into the formula. A 2 loss Texas A&M may be better than a 1 loss Boise because his strength of schedule is stronger. I'm just throwing that out there. I appreciate what you've done this far. I wouldn't expect for you to go farther, buuuuut if you were looking for things to add to the formula, those are 2 things you could think about adding.

New awards added and Best Overall Team Award now also incorporates Strength of Schedule. The formula for the Best Overall Team Award is still under development and is subject to change.

Damn, I'm only on one list. I guess I better work harder on offense next year lol. Dayum, when you add strength of schedule in, look at UGA drop lol. Not even the best on paper anymore lol. As for the awards, me likey, jhawk. I think I'd like this every year. At the end of the season, I'll put the award winners on the ticker across the top of the forum so everyone can see it. Nice.

Quick question, How'd you get the tables in? I'd like to start doing the heisman race thing again starting next season. On OS, I just filled the table out at a different site and then copied and pasted the code on OS. The code doesn't work on this site though. So how did you do it?

I think you need to incorporate losses more into the forumula for best overall team. It makes no sense seeing a two-loss team at third. Also, how do you formulate the other ones?

It makes sense to me. Just because you had more losses than someone else doesn't mean that you don't have a better team. Look at the Patriots of 07. They didn't have any losses and actually beat the Giants the last game of the season, but in the Superbowl, the Giants won. Wins and losses are not the end all be all for measuring a team statistically. That's why they say the games aren't played on paper. Statistically, the Patriots were a lot better than the Giants, but on the field it was a different story. Statistically, Texas A&M is the 3rd best user team in the OD. On the field though, well, that's a different story.

Yeah Georgia got hurt bad by strength of schedule. His combined opponents record is 68-64. He only has 3 ranked opponents on his schedule and they are all middle to low ranked. He has the lowest SOS of all users by far. But, you just helped him out by beating Alabama, so we'll see how it comes out next week.

Wisconsin has the strongest SOS by far. Combined opponents record is 80-51 and he has 5 ranked opponents on his schedule, all in the top 20 with 2 in the top 5. Wisconsin is just a beast this season. Playing the toughest schedule (supposedly) and dominating in a lot of categories. I'm kind of scared to play stop if I make it there.

There's an insert table button that you click and then you put in the number of columns and rows you want. You have to put in your info between the cell markers, its a pretty messed up way to make a table but once you get it set and can just make changes when necessary it's not too bad.

I'll try to get them up by the weekend. This is honestly all I've done the past two days so it's a shit ton of work. But Rivals should go a little bit faster now that I've got it figured out how I want to do it all.

    Updated for week 14.

Not many changes to speak of and not expecting any shifts in first place of anything unless the Boise/Wisconsin game is just insanely lopsided.

Does this include the Big 12 championship, because if not, I may look even more dominant.
