He'll probably spend an hour or two setting up his board which he isn't going to do tonight, so we'll advance to week 1 tomorrow sometime.urbanslegend05 wrote:There's the preseason, which we should advance to in the next few minutes, if you want to do that.

I'll wait a sec and see what the recruits look like. I'm not gonna be able to do it all tonight tho. You know I like to spend some time trying to find the right recruits to fill my board with.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
You better do something with them this year then. Texas and Alabama are rivaling each other with the most over abundance of talent without ever doing anything.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I don't have to play you again, because that was a tough series. Still, the great state of Texas is waiting for some representation against Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
My top 5 (weighing all seasons/dynasties)
1. Joker - Not only has he played me very well, he's been consistant year in and out. Whether its been workers or rivals, he's always near the top. The best attribute he has is his accuracy. He completes most every pass. He does the small things like not turning the ball over and he keeps his game very balanced.
His negative, if he has one, is that sometimes he gets a little too conservative. Obviously his game isn't very flawed by his 27-1 record in the last two seasons. You know you have to play close to flawless if you're going to beat him.
2. Jhawk - He had a down year, yes, but he's still probably one of the three or four deadliest guys in this dynasty despite that. Is it a little high for him? Some could say that, but then you can point to things like his championship with Kansas in workers. You could look at his undefeated year with Stanford here. The guy is consistantly near the top, and you have to say something for consistancy.
His best attribute is his ability to adapt his offense to his strengths. I know that he plays differently most every season. One year he's running the option, one year he's passing the hell out of it, one year he's got a dominant ground game. His offense stays fresh.
His downfall is that sometimes his aggressiveness backfires on him. That's usually when he loses games. But you live and die by the sword.
3. Blaze - I had the hardest time trying to figure out who to put here. This is based solely on what I saw from him last season. I saw him lose to Joker by a point. I saw him come back and beat Jhawk. I saw him rally from a 14-point deficit against Ho to win the ACC.
To tell you the truths, I haven't got to see his strengths fully in action yet. I think most of the times that I've played him he's been overwhelmed by talent or turnovers. This year, things started to seem to come together for him.
These I could probably I identify more of, because I've witnessed them. He has tended to get into holes early and presses sometimes because of that. A good example this year would be the 6 interception game against stop.
4. Stop - How can stop beat Blaze twice this season and be ranked behind him. Again, that has more to do with Blaze turning the corner and the difference in talent.
Stop has had much better talent than most coaches in the dynasty throughout, excluding probably Florida, Alabama and Notre Dame, but yet, he hasn't been able to win his conference against Oklahoma, whose talent is just a little bit behind. Given, Joker is one of the best coaches around, Stop has to break through in that rivalry to go up.
His positives is his versatilty. When he can get his running game going, he's hard to stop. He's able to utilize the option and then can hit you with the deep balls.
But, like his name indicates, if you can stop the run, you can stoptherun. Without his running game and option attack at full force, he runs into trouble when he must fully lean on the passing game.
5. Jared -He's still too much of a wild card to be ranked any higher, but deserved mention for his ability to make the championship (and make it a hell of a game) this season. His schedule was weaker than most of ours, but he did go undefeated with a big win against Notre Dame...and he was within 3 points of winning the title and probably being ranked higher on this list.
His strength is easy. He's got one of the best defenses I've seen. His ability to play middle linebacker at a high level limits offenses from exploiting the peremiters and guards the middle of the field in the passing game.
Offensively, he left a little to be desired with me. At times, I was able to predict which play he was going to run, and it was only the first time that I had played him. His talent was a little behind mine, but its too hard to take a lot away from it based on one game. It was obviously good enough to go undefeated through the regular season.
Honorable mentions (in no particular order) - Clark, Splff, Rauloe, and Ho all garnered consideration.
Clark has been near the top, but he really fell off this last season. He's been consistantly good in here, but he's never won a title with the most talented team (arguably) year in and out. In workers, he wasn't very good and never challenged for the title, though his team wasn't as good.
Splff, he's just always been consistant. Always near the top. I've seen him win a championship, and he's never had the best team. Just a solid player.
Rauloe, he's had awesome talent, but I think he just gets too high before his games. He's a talented player, but hasn't been able to put it together for an entire season.
Ho, he's slacked in rivals with Florida State for sure, but his talent has always been behind. The biggest thing is he continually plays the hardest damn schedule year in and out without top talent to compare. What he really gets consideration for is his championship in workers with LSU when the talent was on an equal playing field.
Others....Pops aka hova, Osama
Osama's game has dissapeared like Bin Laden it appears. Na, I just think he's new to it. Maybe he'll catch on. Maybe he'll post more on the boards than he's ready for the season or maybe he's just LePayne 2.0.
Pops aka Hova, he's just not been able to compete at Michigan. He hasn't had the talent either. Now he's going to Miami where the talent and heat is on. Let's see if that makes a difference in his game.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
They did a bunch of tests. They think its just anxiety/panic attack.
Sorry again it was unexpected.
I can't argue with urbane assessment. I had the craziest defense. I definitely am lacking on offense as seen both here and in cff but im always tryin to improve.
Honestly ill probably never be as dangerous as you guys. Im a conservative style coach and its just how I play.
That was a great season. Go easy on me this year.

Sorry jared but you're gonna hate me lol. I had to give you a week 1 matchup with someone don't have a great record against; stop. Whoop his ass so that we might have a 1 vs. 2 matchup for our game if everything goes right.Jaredlib wrote:Osama I am looking forward to our in-state rivalry. Can I get a hint on who im playin first.

Re: Rivals 2011 Dynasty
Alright, the schedule are done. And I think I'm going to go die now as my eyes are killing me. Couple of notes:
Everyone has an A+ schedule.
Week 1 user games are as follows:
Cal @ Florida State
Miami @ Alabama
USC @ Texas
Weeks 2, 3, and 14 all have a lot of user games as well.
My apologizes to Clark and Urban. I had to give each of you 5 user games. The switching of teams somewhat screwed up the pattern but next year I should be able to get everyone back to an even 4 regular season user games. Clark, your 5th game is against me as I figured we could continue our rivalry. You'll come to South Bend this year and then I'll come back to Bryant-Denny next season if you want to continue it.
I'll see you guys all sometime tomorrow. Peace...

Umm, I don't get off until 6pm so you guys may want to shoot for that 7pm. Good news is I think I can get most of my board done here so I may only need about 20 or 30 min when I get home before we advance.
